Hours:  8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday (some irregular hours including nights, weekends, and holidays)

PURPOSE OF POSITION:
We are seeking a self-motivated candidate that has a balance of technical skills and a strong desire to assist others. This position will provide technical support for the various Utility specific software products provided by Southeastern Data Cooperative (SEDC). They will become the subject matter expert for these products. This position will provide direction and vision on how the company can utilize these tools to be more efficient and effective. The candidate should have the ability to develop strong interpersonal relationships throughout the company and with vendors.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Will be the primary contact for end user technical support for all SEDC products.
  2. Advise areas on upcoming product releases and future product integrations.
  3. Evaluate, test, and implement software revisions and updates.
  4. Manage/Coordinate implementation projects with other teams and vendors.
  5. Provide user/role system administration for additional products.
  6. Create queries/reports/dashboards from ReportIQ for analysis and other areas.
  7. Coordinate internal training as needed.
  8. Provide general IT help desk support to end users as needed.
  9. Provide excellent internal customer service.
  10. Perform any duties necessary for the benefit of the company.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  1. A minimum of a 2-year degree (Bachelor’s strongly preferred) in computer science or related field and 2-3 years of experience is required. A longer work history will be considered in lieu of degree.
  2. Must be a fast learner that can train/work independently.
  3. Must have experience with common productivity software.
  4. Will be required to attend at least one week out of town a year for conferences/training.
  5. Must work well with others and have a positive attitude.
  6. Responsible for year-end processing that requires work over the New Year’s holiday weekend.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  1. Sitting for extended periods of time.
  2. Occasional lifting of equipment such as PCs, monitors, etc.
  3. After an offer of employment has been made, a physical examination is required including drug testing.
