Diverse Power Foundation, Inc.

Energizing Education To Empower Tomorrow's Leaders

Diverse Power Foundation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, charitable corporation that manages funds collected through Diverse Power's Operation RoundUp®. Formed in 2002, Diverse Power Foundation seeks to enhance education by providing grants and scholarships with funds collected through Operation Round Up®, a program through which co-op members "round up" their utility bills to the next dollar with the difference going to fund education within Diverse Power's seven-county service area.

Determining support for area education to be an across-the-board charitable venue that would ultimately benefit all those served by Diverse Power, the Diverse Power Foundation chose to distribute all Operation Round Up® funds in the form of scholarships to graduating high school seniors and grants to special instructional programs in area schools.

A volunteer, nine-member Board of Directors reviews applications for Diverse Power Foundation scholarships and school grants, awarding scholarships to high school seniors graduating from accredited schools within the co-op's service area and funding grants to support educational programs and projects in grades 1-12 in Diverse Power service area schools.

"At Diverse Power, we understand our purpose is not only to provide you with electric power but to serve as responsible members of our community as well," says Diverse Power President/CEO Wayne Livingston. "That's why we've taken strides to provide powerful leaders for tomorrow by enhancing education today. With your help, the Diverse Power Foundation Inc., through our Operation Round Up® program, works to promote area education in an effort to energize students as they prepare for the future -- theirs and ours."

Students seeking Diverse Power Foundation scholarships must demonstrate exceptional scholastic skills, exemplary personal character, and civic responsibility.

Schools are encouraged to request grants for specific projects that show innovation in education or support curriculum through creative teaching skills, or grants for special equipment or supplies to support classroom learning activities.

Scholarship applications are available through school counselors or administrators or on the Web at www.dpfi.org or www.diversepower.com. For more information on scholarships or grants, call (706) 845-2000 or (800) 845-8362.
