Purpose of Position:
Provides a better quality of life for members and customers by promoting energy efficiency and awareness by assisting members, developers, builders and others in the wise use of energy and by providing information on DPI programs and services.

1 JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Performs personally the following:

(a) Provides input and assistance in developing the DPI’s residential and commercial strategic marketing plan.

(b) Coordinates and implements the system-wide residential/commercial marketing program.

(c) Maintains good working relationships with area builders, developers, heating and or air-conditioning distributors and contractors, and other associated trade organizations.

(d) Maintains a thorough working knowledge of the Georgia Territorial Act and Diverse Power service territory.

(e) Assists in the development of promotional advertising and marketing related brochures and publishers.  Coordinates system participation in exhibits and trade shows.

(f) Provides technical expertise and required information for lighting proposals, overhead/underground service, cost in aid ratios, rate analysis, operating comparisons, solar, and electric vehicles, including any recommended equipment, accessories or necessary inventory levels.

(g) Possesses a working knowledge and make recommendations concerning departmental computer and audio-visual equipment and their marketing applications.

(h) Recommends and evaluates training for system residential marketing personnel concerning proper rate applications, service rules and regulations and other related areas.

(i) Communicates with members, prospective members and the general public to gain acceptance and reach negotiated agreements for services and programs where contracts may be required such as related to underground distribution or other residential rate applications.

(j) Actively participates in cooperative efforts with other area utilities to promote beneficial electrical load.

(k) Assists with marketing or member attitude surveys.

(l) Maintains an up-to-date knowledge and reference material of established and new developments in the electric energy field especially related to residential and farm marketing.

(m) Assists in the development of department work plans and budgets.

(n) Possesses a working knowledge of required electrical or other measuring devices.    

(o) Actively participates in community activities, clubs, youth and adult groups.

(p) Plans and participates in Cooperative Annual Meeting.

(q) Becomes familiar with and follow the best safety practices set forth in the Cooperative’s Safety Manual.      

2 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

A BA/BS Degree in marketing, communications or engineering is required.

At least three years experience in a customer service or utility public and member relations is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

Office and Fieldwork. Some overtime may be required.
